My work is a reflection of the arrangement and rearrangement of the Self. We stack and place ourselves in precarious balances. In this fleeting equilibrium, we experience a flash of awe before something topples over or floats away. The elementary shapes are for communicating in a simple way the complexity of the inner soulscape. They are childlike and serve my creativity as I have relearned their language having been re-inducted into the child’s world as a mother. I have watched my son stack things very high in the most perilous configurations that defy my logic. And before I can concretize his tower with glue or a snapshot, he knocks it all down in pure joy. And I have watched myself construct ideas, rules and regulations, and have soaked up their reliability and written down their reasoning only to watch life topple them over freeing me to realize new possibilities.
